Grafton & Upton Rail - Trail
History, back to life.

Hello and welcome to what will hopefully be the initial site for Massachusetts' next great interpretative center, linear park, and rail-trail.  My hope is that the residents of Grafton, Upton, Hopedale, the Blackstone Valley, and beyond also embrace this 15-year old dream of mine and share in its realization.  As a former resident and graduate of Hopedale High School, I have always wished to see the railway alive again.  After seeing industry slip away from these communities over the past twenty years, I feel this may be the best way make the past come to life while creating something new.  For more information, please click on the links located to the left.  The best place to start is, of course, "Getting Started".

This site is a proposal to convert a portion of the Grafton & Upton Railroad's right-of-way into a Rail-Trail for public use.  The area under study is approximately 12 miles in length, from Green(e) St in Hopedale to the south and North St in Grafton Center to the north.  Included are over 35 pages and more than 200 images to help tell this story. The site is meant to be comprehensive in its scope, useful for all visitors.

Note: Not all links are currently viable. Full site continuity is expected 12/3/03. Thank you.
